Blue Dream is the strain I use to work out whether a menu is worth reading. It is grown everywhere, it has been grown for fifteen years, and there is no excuse left for growing it badly. If it arrives dry, harsh or smelling of nothing, I know what the rest of the shelf is going to be.
This one arrived correctly. Medium-density buds, a proper cure, and enough moisture left that the grinder did not turn it to dust. The nose is the familiar one: blueberry sitting on top of something green and slightly peppery, more herbal than sweet once you break it open. It is not loud. Blue Dream has never been loud.
The high is the reason it survives. Fifteen minutes in it is clear, level and slightly bright, and it stays there for about two hours without pulling in either direction. You can work on it. You can also do nothing on it. That flexibility is worth more than a headline number.
At thirty-five for an eighth this is the correct price. It is not top shelf and it should not be sold as top shelf. What it is, is a reliable thing to have in the jar when you do not want to think about it.

The strain that defined the California market for most of the 2010s and still the most reliable yardstick on any menu. If a grower handles Blue Dream badly, assume the rest of the shelf is worse. Effects are famously even, which is why it survives as a benchmark rather than a headliner.
