This is what people are describing when they say the market has got better. Dense, pale, so heavily frosted that the green underneath only shows where you break it, and cured properly rather than dried fast and jarred wet.

The nose is the whole argument. Vanilla and cake batter on the top, and underneath it a sour, almost cheesy funk that stops the sweetness from being sickly. It fills a room from an open jar at three feet. On the inhale the sweet note carries through and finishes peppery, which is the caryophyllene doing its job.

It hits within a couple of minutes and it does not ask permission. Heavy through the shoulders, slightly slow behind the eyes, and after about forty minutes the appetite arrives whether it was invited or not. This is an evening strain and treating it as anything else is a mistake I have already made so you do not have to.

Fifty-five is a lot. It is also, for this specific jar, defensible. What I would not pay fifty-five for is the same name grown ordinarily, which is most of what carries this name.

Scorecard

Five scores out of ten. The overall is their average and is never set by hand, so it can never disagree with its own parts.

Terps 9.0 Flavour and aroma on the inhale. The thing you actually taste.
High 9.0 Strength, character and how long it lasts.
Smell 9.0 The jar test. How loud it is before you burn any.
Look 9.0 Trim, structure, trichome coverage, cure.
Value 6.0 What it cost against what it delivered.

About Wedding Cake

Full profile

Consistently one of the highest-testing cultivars on California menus and a staple of the dessert lineage. Dense, heavily frosted bud that tends to survive transport well, which makes it a safer delivery pick than fluffier sativas. Sold as Pink Cookies on the East Coast.
